This small town of Southern Italy is one of the best known
places on the Amalfi Coast, located along the
southern section of the Sorrento Peninsula,
overlooking the Gulf of Salerno.
With origins dating back to ancient times, it was founded by
inhabitants of Paestum fleeing their home town besieged by
Saracens, later becoming so skilled in maritime trade as to
threaten the leading role of the Maritime Republic
of Amalfi.
It is one of the preferred spots on the Amalfi Coast for elite
tourism, any time of year. Set in a spectacular position on
